The lighting is designed for the main casino space is aimed at making the people more aroused and stay longer in the casino. The lighting source for the specified would be studied and carefully selected based on its color rendering ability and is circadian lighting characteristics. The lighting source would be selected from the lighting source SPDs database from IES. The criteria of color rendering quality and circadian stimulus value are set up, which keep the source has high color rendering ability and a CS value large than 3 in a relatively lower illuminance level, for picking the best lighting source suitable for the casino space.

SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is a resort and casino which is on the site of the legendary Sahara Hotel at the entrance of Las Vegas Blvd. the SLS Hotels established a dramatic new standard in guest experience with the contemporary and modern design. The final lighting design reflected that the idea to continue the stylish of interior design to generate the most unique, simple and dramatic hotel and casino design on the Las Vegas Blvd.

For each part of the project, the design goal is to make the design solution more sustain-able than before. All the lighting fixtures had been upgraded to LED and the find design matched every lighting power density requirement. The electrical design was aiming to add a supplemental DC-coupling PV system which allows the owner having more connections to the renewable energy source.  The breadth topic regarding to modify the building enclosure is aiming at enhancing the R-value of the typical wall assembly to save more energy on the cooling load.
